These stones are heat resistant and will sustain heat generated by gas or ethanol systems (tested with positive results with units up to 90,000 BTUs). Each fire stone bag covers most standard-size fireplaces (±1 sq. ft. coverage), and weighs 18 to 20 lb. Stone size is approx. 1 inch to 2 inch. Please make sure to follow the fireplace or burner’s manufacturer’s recommendations before installation.
Please Note: It is recommended to keep all the openings clear and a clearance space around the burner. Wash with lukewarm water to clean any residue, oil or dirt. Stones turning black are due to accumulation of soot which occurs because of incomplete combustion. Colors shown here are for reference only. Actual stones may vary in size and color. Before making a purchase make sure with your fireplace or fire pit manufacturer that it is fit to be used with stones. Improper use may lead to undesired results such as stones turning black or bursting flame.

Exactly as described & look much nicer than the logs we had before.
The river rock all 50lbs was used to replace brown glass beads that were supplied by the fire table company. The river rock elevated the table and made it a centrepiece of our backyard . Thx
